Ingredients

  • 16 ounces wide egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup salted butter 1 stick
  • 4 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  • Lightly grease the interior of the slow cooker insert with a small amount of butter or non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • Pour the entire package of wide egg noodles directly into the bottom of the prepared slow cooker.
  • Slice the stick of butter into small pads or cubes, then scatter them evenly over the top of the dry pasta.
  • Carefully pour all of the chicken broth over the noodles and butter.
  • Gently stir the ingredients to begin distributing the melting butter and wet the pasta, taking care not to break the dry noodles.
  • Cover the machine securely with its lid and cook on the LOW setting for approximately two to three hours, checking the texture around the two-hour mark.
  • Lift the lid quickly once every hour to give the mixture a brief stir for even heat distribution.
  • Turn the machine off or to the warm setting once the pasta is perfectly tender and has absorbed the majority of the rich broth, then serve immediately.

Notes

• Avoid High Heat: Stick to the low setting to prevent the liquid from evaporating too quickly and scorching the edges.
• Check Early: Every appliance cooks a bit differently, so testing the noodles at the two-hour mark ensures a perfectly soft, uniform texture rather than a mushy one.
• Broth Quality: Since this recipe relies on very few elements, utilizing a high-quality, flavorful chicken broth will make a huge difference in the final taste profile.
• Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three to four days. Reheat with a splash of extra broth or water to restore the original silky consistency.
