Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt & black pepper
  • Olive oil or cooking spray for frying or air frying

For the Caesar Dressing

  • ½ cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: For authentic flavor add ½ teaspoon anchovy paste or use a substitute like soy sauce.

For Assembly

  • 2 –4 sandwich buns or brioche rolls
  • 1 cup romaine lettuce chopped
  • Shaved parmesan or mozzarella
  • Extra Caesar dressing for drizzling

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  • Slice chicken breasts horizontally to make thinner cutlets. Pat dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Step 2: Create a Breading Station

  • In three shallow bowls:
  • Flour
  • Beaten eggs
  • Panko breadcrumbs mixed with parmesan
  • Dip each chicken piece in flour → egg → breadcrumb mixture, pressing crumbs firmly for an even coating.

Step 3: Cook Until Crispy

  • Option 1 – Pan Fry:
  • Heat 2–3 tablespoons of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (internal temp: 165°F / 74°C).
  • Option 2 – Air Fryer:
  • Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray chicken with oil and air fry for 12–14 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Step 4: Make the Caesar Dressing

  • Whisk all dressing ingredients in a bowl until creamy. Adjust lemon or parmesan to taste. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Step 5: Toast the Buns

  • Lightly butter the inside of your buns and toast them in a skillet until golden brown. This adds flavor and keeps the sandwich from getting soggy.

Step 6: Assemble the Sandwich

  • Layer the bottom bun with lettuce, a drizzle of Caesar dressing, crispy chicken, shaved parmesan, and another spoon of dressing. Finish with the top bun and serve warm.
