Step 1 – Prepare the Chicken Mixture

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of shredded chicken, 1 package of stuffing mix, 1 can of cream of chicken soup, 1 cup chicken broth, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir gently until the stuffing softens slightly and all ingredients are evenly coated. Optional: Add dried herbs like thyme or sage for extra aroma.

Step 2 – Mix the Creamy Base

  • Ensure the soup and broth blend fully with the chicken and stuffing mixture, creating a rich, creamy consistency. This will keep the casserole moist during baking.

Step 3 – Layer the Chicken and Stuffing

  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish, then pour in the mixture. Spread it evenly with a spatula so it cooks uniformly. Smooth the top for a consistent golden crust.

Step 4 – Bake Until Golden and Bubbly

  • If desired, sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese evenly over the top. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes until the casserole is bubbling, and the top is golden brown with slightly crisp edges.

Step 5 – Rest Before Serving

  • Allow the casserole to rest for 5–10 minutes. This helps the creamy base set, making it easier to slice and serve.
