Ingredients

  • Banana Pudding Layer 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix 2 cups cold milk, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 3–4 bananas (sliced), 1 box vanilla wafers, crushed (or graham cracker crumbs)
  • Cheesecake Layer 8 oz cream cheese softened, 1 cup heavy whipping cream, 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Strawberry Layer / Topping 1 lb strawberries sliced, 1 cup strawberry puree, 1 cup whipped topping
  • Optional Garnishes Extra whipped topping chocolate shavings, crushed cookies, mint leaves
  • These ingredients are easy to source and allow for fresh homemade flavor. Using ripe bananas and fresh strawberries ensures the dessert tastes naturally sweet without needing excessive sugar.

Instructions

Step 1 — Prepare the Banana Pudding Base

  • Whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and slightly thickened. If the mixture feels too stiff, stir in a small spoonful of cream to maintain a creamy consistency.

Step 2 — Blend in Cream Cheese and Condensed Milk

  • Add the sweetened condensed milk and softened cream cheese to the pudding. Beat until completely smooth and lump-free to achieve a silky, creamy texture for the layers.

Step 3 — Whip and Fold the Cream

  • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Gently fold it into the pudding mixture, keeping the texture light and airy for the cheesecake layer.

Step 4 — Layer the Dessert

  • In a trifle dish or individual cups, create layers in this order:
  • Crushed vanilla wafers or graham cracker crumbs
  • Banana pudding mixture
  • Sliced bananas
  • Sliced strawberries and strawberry puree or whipped topping
  • Repeat the layers if desired, finishing with a strawberry/whipped cream topping. This method ensures a visually appealing presentation while balancing textures.

Step 5 — Chill and Serve

  • Refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours, or overnight for best results. Before serving, garnish with extra whipped topping, strawberries, chocolate shavings, or crushed cookies. The chilling process allows the flavors to meld, giving a rich, indulgent taste in every bite.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm bananas to prevent them from getting mushy.
  • Chill for at least 2–4 hours (or overnight) for the best layered texture.
  • Swap cream cheese for Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
  • Fresh strawberries work best, but frozen (thawed) can be used in a pinch.
  • Add a crushed cookie or graham cracker layer for extra crunch.
  • Garnish with chocolate shavings, whipped cream, or extra berries for presentation.
